Our dad was pissed. [He tells this story the way you'd tell someone about the time you broke your arm when you were 8 while climbing a really awesome tree.]

She's a trained demon hunter raised in a village of crazy demon hunters. She likes to brag about how she killed her first demon at age six. I'm actually not sure who would win in this case. [He says it equally teasingly, but. Well. Maybe probably Natasha still. But he's seen his small-statured sister take down a rabid werewolf twice her size before.]

[Natasha isn't invested in being better. She has too much experience not to realize that there's always someone better than you are out there. But she's amused by the idea, and Soeki bragging about his sister is pretty cute.

She scritches her claws through his hair again, teasing.]

You two would either get along like a house on fire and terrify me, or that would be a spectacular action movie fight. And it would probably also terrify me. [He thinks very highly of his sister, not just her skills but her in general. He thinks very highly of Natasha as well, and honestly, if they ever met, he'd want them to get along. At least as much as Eira gets along with anyone.

He leans into the scritching contentedly, breathing out.] ...I hope she never shows up here though. I miss her, but that'd be shit.

I know that feeling. Somehow the people I don't want to see here keep showing up, though.

Seems like there's more every group of new arrivals. Or sometimes more of the same. This is the third time Steve's showed up and disappeared since I got here.

[Which is hard for her in particular. There are few people who Natasha would rather work with, and also few people who belong here less.]

Jesus christ. Makes you wonder what she has against him. [Not that Soeki is a fan, after their last interaction, but he is still Natasha's friend, and that counts for something.] And he doesn't come back remembering anything, does he? I got lucky there, at least.

No changes and no memories. [That might have been one of the reasons that she was so happy when Soeki recognized her. He hadn't been completely wiped and reset.] I have to wonder if there's a reason for it, or a method. It can't be that he was getting close to anything. Not the last time.

Another guy, Jade's boss, came back at the same time I did, with no changes. He actually had his memories though. [It seems like it's possible in any number of combinations. Soeki just realizes how lucky he really was that he didn't have to change again and that he remembered his friends.]

Nah, if it was that he was getting close to something, it'd happen a lot more. There are people here who have way more information than Rogers.

A this point, it might just be random. [Which she hates. It means that it's not predictable. It means she doesn't know if he's in danger of having it happen again.]

There's just no way to know for sure.

Only way to know would be to ask directly. [He points out, but the thought of asking the Fog God anything... It sits badly in the pit of his stomach, and he's not sure if it's general fear or something shoved on him by alignment.] I'm not recommending that, though.
