So, it can be seen as defensive by some, but Peridot or Coral doesn't think that it is.

Right.

And Coral seems to be using their previous experience in this game to explain most of their odd behavior.

There are dangerous games and safe games. This one is safe.

Doesn't matter. Traumatic experiences leave their mark...

Here's an example: if another Persona hosted the game that Pandora ran only without the maiming? I'd probably making huge mistakes that could cost my team the win because I'd be thinking about Pandora's game the whole time.

[mulling that over]

So, we can't depend on them to answer questions and talk, because of the game before?

I didn't say that.

They can answer questions and talk, but everything they say and do is going to be colored by their experiences. You have to keep that in mind and filter out what's related and what's not.

Eclipse'd probably explain it better. He's the natural sleuth in the family.

He'd be able to explain it better, anyway.

Basically, everyone has their own experiences and those experiences shape and form our reactions to different situations. It's something we deal with on a day-to-day basis. The fact that you use examples of past games to play in current games is like that.

[no, he would figure it out, shush you, nodding]

Mm . . . I understand.
