No. Just turned out for me. If I had to come up with a list of teams to start trying to work with—well, you're high on the list.

But I'll be honest, I want to believe you're not a mouse here, but you're a very intelligent woman, Natasha. And I know Amethyst is full of intelligent people who can play hard. Especially in the easier games. So I'm kinda on the fence here.

I think we can work with each other whether or or not we're sure of that. Believe it or not, the reason I want to work with you isn't because I trust you.

I like you. And mostly, I think you'll be good at this game.

... okay, gotta say, your tactics are pretty effective here.

But you're right that this goes right up my alley of investigative work. And being flexible enough to dodge metaphorical bullets. If you're honestly thinking I'll be effective in this game, others will, too, once they get past initial inexperience and relative newness. Which means I could be taken out any time.

So, my suspicions right now? Coral or Tiger's Eye.

Tiger's Eye made me suspicious with their faulty logic of why they chose Emerald. Coral... Kit's reason felt contrived and then there's the fact that he starts the chain of who voted what without offering up Coral's vote first.

Basically it's little things but enough to make me think it's one of the two and not Peridot.

I noticed that with Coral—that they asked about votes without offering their own. Also interesting that they didn't vote in the first round at all, even though they have a lot of players.

Tiger's eye... I've seen the least with them. I'm talking to them in private. We'll see what they say.

Mostly, though, it's more that Peridot felt innocent to me. Jean hasn't been around, which I'm not sure about, but Peridot's mix up with the votes didn't feel like something that would happen if they were mice. They wouldn't have a reason to draw attention to themselves, and they would have had a plan together. They didn't.

So in the end, I'm aiming for Coral and Tiger's eye in the next poll. See how they react under pressure. Both of them have a lot of people playing, so there's a good chance someone will crack.

That's one way to go about it. Definitely'll get someone sweating somewhere.

... though I'm leaning more toward Coral because of their experience compared to Tiger's Eye, if the knight with Iolite wasn't lying about that. Coral knows the game and have been around the block enough to know effective ways to play the game. If they have one newbie with everyone else they have on the team, they can easily cover for slipups.

Well, I managed to make the bad guy doubt only just enough that he probably thought it was more fun to watch me try. That, and him needing me to train his daughter.
